Band Profile: Temple of The Dog

Temple of the Dog was a rock band formed in Seattle in 1990. It was conceived by vocalist Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a tribute to his friend died from heroin, Andrew Wood (lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone). The lineup consisted of guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament (both ex-members of Mother Love Bone), as lead guitarist Mike McCready, drummer Matt Cameron and Eddie Vedder (who would later be the voice of Pearl Jam) as the second vocalist .

The band released their only album, the self-titled Temple of the Dog in April 1991. Beyond his incredible record, forged the foundation for what would become Pearl Jam.
