Chris Cornell give acoustic concerts
During the meeting Soundgarden continues to occupy its members, singer and guitarist Chris Cornell, the group leader, take a little time for him this spring for a short tour where he decided to produce one on stage with his acoustic guitar.
During the tour he Songbook concerts will offer its fans, Cornell intends to tap into his personal catalog, including his solo career and the one with Soundgarden, but also benefit to play some other songs he likes.
The idea of this Songbook Tour came to him in December 2009 when he offered an intimate concert at Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles.
April 1 to May 6, Cornell will visit 25 cities, including Toronto (April 20), Edmonton (April 26) Medicine Hat (April 27) and Victoria (29 April) in Canada.
Telephantasm : A first album in 13 years to Soundgarden
Nearly 13 years after the release of his latest compilation album titled A-Sides, the American Telephantasm Soundgarden finally launching an album together his best successes since the 90s and a few original pieces, through the video game Guitar Hero .
Chris Cornell, the singer said in a recent interview that the choice of launch Telephantasm with the support of a video game was the right to disseminate his music to a new generation of potential fans.
“Obviously, it will join a large amount of young people who know, or not, Soundgarden. Regardless, I think our album launch this way to reach many people who never heard our music (…) “.
Telephantasm, released this week through Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, is already certified platinum since the amount of video games that have been sold. The album will also be included on the shelves of record stores on October 5th. It is also available on iTunes since September 28.
Telephantasm is the third compilation album of the band from Seattle. Since their formation in 1984, Soundgarden was launched only five studio albums, including superunknow in 1994, which included the hits Black Hole Sun and Spoonman.
Band Profile: Temple of The Dog

Temple of the Dog was a rock band formed in Seattle in 1990. It was conceived by vocalist Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a tribute to his friend died from heroin, Andrew Wood (lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone). The lineup consisted of guitarist Stone Gossard, bassist Jeff Ament (both ex-members of Mother Love Bone), as lead guitarist Mike McCready, drummer Matt Cameron and Eddie Vedder (who would later be the voice of Pearl Jam) as the second vocalist .
The band released their only album, the self-titled Temple of the Dog in April 1991. Beyond his incredible record, forged the foundation for what would become Pearl Jam.

Baptized with the name of a popular wind sculpture located in Seattle, Soundgarden were one of the great formations trapped in the grunge sound, establishing a pioneering blend of hard rock bands and metal like Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath, the psychedelia of the late 60 and proto-punk groups like the Stooges, New York Dolls, The Velvet Underground and MC5, without losing a glimpse into the work key names like The Beatles, Neil Young, Kiss, Ramones and Jimi Hendrix.
Soundgarden is a derivation of the encounter between guitarist Kim Thayil (born September 4, 1960 in Seattle), bassist Hiro Yamamoto (born April 13, 1961) and Bruce Pavitt in a small town in Illinois called Park Forest.
These three childhood friends moved to Olympia, Washington to attend college at Evergreen State College and continue sharing their confluence music lovers. Pavitt formed in late 1979 a fanzine called Subterranean Pop, which in its third issue to cut its name to the Sub Pop fanzine Eventually became the label Sub Pop Records, a nursery for raising awareness of alternative bands Northwest of the United States and starting point for the most important names in the music called grunge.
