John Lennon and Yoko Ono

Stanley John Winston Lennon (Liverpool, UK, October 9, 1940 – † New York, USA, December 8, 1980) was a British musician and composer.

Member and founder of The Beatles, where he played guitar, sang and composed much of the material with his partner Paul McCartney. Lennon has composed some of the most popular tunes of the twentieth century.

What if John Lennon had been killed 30 years ago? What would have happened? What would become the famous guitarist of the Beatles? Imagine …

The world remembers. It happened Dec. 8, 1980.

John Lennon left his luxury apartment near Central Park in New York, when a stranger came up the street.

The man gave his name Mark David Chapman. A few seconds later, “Mr. Lennon” was shot five bullets from a revolver. He was only 40 years.

What would have happened if the guard of the building had been more vigilant? If Lennon had not left his apartment at that precise moment? If he had reacted differently? Would it still music? The Beatles would they be reconciled? We made some assumptions on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of his death.

1981

Lennon and Yoko Ono still experiencing success with Double Fantasy, Milk and then with Money. They go on tour, Lennon back on stage for the first time since 1975. He is surprised by the public sympathy towards him, but he is especially delighted that the avant-garde Yoko Ono has finally appreciated for its value. Lennon participated in Saturday Night Live.

1984

Always as productive and creative, Lennon released his fourth album in four years. In November, he refused to join the Band Aid Bob Geldof, Do They Know It’s Chrismas, charity song for the fight against family – Ethiopia attended by among others British celebrities Paul McCartney, Bono, George Michael, Sting, David Bowie or Phil Collins.

1988

1994

1996

John Lennon’s wife Yoko Ono and son Sean out together an album and toured with the family. Influenced by Sean Lennon started listening to indie rock bands like Sonic Youth and Cibo Matto. New collaborations are emerging.

1997

McCartney was knighted by the Queen of England. Lennon, himself, refused the honor in protest at the policies of Conservative Prime Minister John Major, and the fact that his first solo song, “Cold Turkey” was removed from the British charts.

1998

Linda McCartney died of cancer. John Lennon part in the tribute to him with Ringo Starr made and George Harrison. This teaches them that occasion it was done to remove a tumor in the neck. A little later, the four find themselves and, recognizing that life is too short, are reconciled at last.

1999

The Beatles find themselves briefly informally during a concert by Paul McCartney to the first anniversary of the death of Linda at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Lennon, Harrison and Starr in fact join McCartney on stage to send a few old songs before their path splits again.

2001

Following the attacks of September 11, Lennon, who became a true blues singer from New York, takes part in charity concert A Tribute to Heroes, where he sang his famous Give Peace A Chance.

The death of George Harrison, two months later, put an official end to the Beatles. Lennon, McCartney and Starr back on stage together at the first anniversary of the death of Harrison at the Royal Albert Hall, A Concert for George in memory of their friend.

2005

John Lennon played at Madison Square Garden for his 60th birthday. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are among the guests, but Elton John, who marks his presence performing Whatever Gets You Through The Night and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds as he did 30 years earlier.

2008

Lennon wants all the emails he receives from his fans to be sent to Ringo, but he announced on his website that he no longer wishes to receive emails from fans.

2009

John Lennon and Yoko Ono celebrate their 40th anniversary by releasing a new CD called Two Virgins.

On the cover, they pose both naked, like before. The retail chain Walmart refuses to distribute the album as the couple will not propose a new cover on which their sex would at least be covered with a fig leaf.

2010

With Rock Band, bringing all their titles remastered and their arrival on iTunes, The Beatles enter the digital age.

Since the 70s, it has evolved. With Plastic Ono Band, he now divides his artistic life with Yoko Ono and son Sean Lennon. An autographed copy, but damaged by Double Fantasy, which was found in the street is offered for sale on eBay. But nobody is interested in buying it.
