Band Profile: Skid Row

Skid Row is an American hard rock and glam metal, which was to become the prototypes of the rock band in the metal scene in the late 1980s. This band was one of the few that was not eclipsed by the grunge movement in the early 90s. Skid Row also managed to sell over 20 million albums worldwide

Biography

The group was formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. Their initial lineup consisted of Matt Fallon (vocals), Dave “The Snake” Sabo, Scotti Hill (guitar), Rachel Bolan (bass) and Rob Affuso (drums). Later joined the group vocalist Sebastian Bach, replacing Fallon. The band began playing clubs in the eastern United States. Aided by his friend Jon Bon Jovi, Sabo secured a contract for Skid Row with Atlantic Records label in 1988, then entered the studio with Michael Wagener (producer of Ozzy Osbourne, White Lion and Extreme fame, among others) to record their first album.
