The Ramones will receive the Lifetime Achievement Grammy
According to the Billboard site, the pioneering American punk band The Ramones will receive a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in February next, at the next big night of the Grammy Awards.

Founded in 1974 and considered the first punk band, even before the Sex Pistols, The Ramones has been known for its leather jackets and very short song full of energy.
The four musicians have played together for the last time 14 years ago.
In the space of just three years, from 2001 to 2004, three members of the Ramones died successively or singer Joey Ramone (49 years), bassist Dee Dee Ramone (51 years) and guitarist Johnny Ramone (55 years ).
The only living original member is drummer Tommy Ramone, who would normally be the one who will fetch the honorary Grammy.
In 2002, The Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Grammy Awards 2011 will take place on February 13 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
